first hole
The first hole presents an opportunity for the average golfer to recover from any first tee jitters while more advanced players can seize the opportunity to go for the green in two shots on this slightly downhill par 5—if they can manage the multi-tiered putting surface.
"The Journey Begins"
552 Yards • Par 5

second hole
The first of six par 3 holes at Copper Mill, the lengthy second hole vertically traverses Cypress Bayou from the tee complex to this "Redan-like" green setting. The manner in which the green hangs on the edge of the bayou's bank on the right side (separated only by a wooden bulkhead wall) makes a pin on the back right portion of the green off-limits to all but the boldest of players.
"Cliffs of Despair"
188 Yards • Par 3

third hole
This par 4 can be deceptive and dangerous. If you're feeling up for the challenge, a precise and long drive can find its way onto the front of the green. However, Cypress Bayou makes it's way across the tee complex and down the length of the hole--guarding the front left portion of the green. Likewise, if you lay up off the tee with a long iron or fairway wood, you must negotiate a devilish pot bunker in the fairway and a sea of sand fronting the green on your approach.
"Temptation"
353 Yards • Par 4

fourth hole
The fourth hole is a "healthy" par 5 that traverses a wetland off the tee and meanders its way through large mounds and fairway bunkers--culminating at a large and rolling green complex surrounded by grassy hollows and a pot bunker. Don't worry about reaching the green in two on this hole. Instead, place your shots carefully so that you have the best angle from which to attack the pin on this long and narrow green surface.
"Patience"
614 Yards • Par 5

fifth hole
This test of golf can be demanding if your tee shot doesn't find the short grass. A creek crosses the front of the green with just a sliver of fairway to run up your approach shot. However, the hole's namesake--the stately live oak which stands sentry behind the green--provides a beautiful backdrop to this gently rolling green.
"The Ross Oak"
423 Yards • Par 4

sixth hole
The handful of large oaks which serve as a backdrop to this green can lull you into a sense of security; but beware of this putting surface which--for the most part--is hidden from the tee. A large depression runs away from you in the approach of the green and the green itself becomes shallow near the back--where the Sunday pin placement is sure to be located for top tournaments.
"Peek-a-boo"
182 Yards • Par 3

seventh hole
The pot bunkers for which this hole was named can cause problems with a player's sense of depth perception. Trust your swing--and your yardage--to avoid the deep and tricky bunkers off the tee. Finding the green in regulation, however, is no guarantee of par as you must negotiate the "thumb print" depression which creeps into the front of the green if your approach shot and the pin find themselves on opposite sides of this devilish design feature.
"Sea of Tranquillity"
397 Yards • Par 4

eighth hole
The final par 3 on the front nine, the eighth hole is complicated by playing into and across the prevailing wind and the green is cut into the hillside which crosses from the right to left, creating a steep tier to the left of the green which can repel an errant tee shot. But don't bail out too far to the right or you'll discover the namesake of this beautiful and treacherous hole.
"Eden's Gift"
196 Yards • Par 3

ninth hole
The closing hole on this nine can be the catalyst for a great round on the back nine or leave a player wondering "what if" at the turn. A relatively easy tee shot quickly becomes complicated on the approach as longer hitters must decide if the reward of going for the green in two is worth the risk. Framed by a series of waterfalls behind the sharply contoured green which is fronted by both water and sand, a 3 on the card is possible--but an 8 would not be uncommon.
"Wise Man's Folly"
533 Yards • Par 5

tenth hole
Beginning the back nine is a hole which juxtaposes two lakes from the tee complex to the green and is framed by massive areas of native grass. Perched near the water's edge, the green is more visible and more easily accessible from the upper fairway tier on the right side; but the lower tier on the left is wider and an easier target from the tee.
"Split Decision"
418 Yards • Par 4

eleventh hole
Framed by solitary oak trees, this par 3 is a visual masterpiece. A pair of pot bunkers to the right of the green balance the single bunker behind the left side of the putting surface--which is bisected by a slope that runs away from the tee at an angle. Surrounded by large chipping areas, rolling mounds and native grasses, you may forget you are still in Louisiana as you size up your options for playing this hole.
"Divinity"
174 Yards • Par 3

twelfth hole
This monster of a par 5 plays around and over a series of large fairway bunkers off the tee as well as for the second shot. With the lake along the left side for the final half of the hole and wrapping around behind the green, accuracy is a premium for longer hitters. However, some degree of relief can be found at the green--whose large putting surface and expanded chipping areas afford a generous target for your approach shot.
"Odyssey"
632 Yards • Par 5

thirteenth hole
The peninsula green on this lengthy par 3 poses a formidable task for the player seeking to go for a pin on the back left portion of the green. However, a shot played to the correct location along the right side of the green can funnel back around the series of bunkers that guard the left side of this oversized putting surface.
"Vertigo"
218 Yards • Par 3

fourteenth hole
Your tour of the lake is completed with this double-dogleg par 5 which hugs the edge of the lake and two large protected wetland areas from the back tee to the green juxtaposed against the 12th and 13th holes. This challenging test of golf culminates at a large green perched upon a peninsula that juts into the lake. Although two dauntingly large bunkers guard the putting surface, they can provide safe refuge for an errant shot hoping to avoid the water.
"Turn for Home"
510 Yards • Par 5

fifteenth hole
As you begin to close your round at Copper Mill, don't be fooled by the seemingly harmless 15th hole. This slightly uphill par 3 plays to a green flanked by protected wetland areas and surrounded by native grasses. Keep your mind on the task at hand and try not to think ahead to the tempting par 4 sixteenth hole.
"Sleeper"
226 Yards • Par 3

sixteenth hole
Beware the green which makes this short par 4 tempting to the untrained eye. Upon closer inspection, one realizes the bunker separating the lake from the front and right portion of this elevated green also allows the water to meander back around the back right side of the green. If you elect to go for the green from the tee, utilize the contours of the fairway to run your ball onto the green--but not too far in order to avoid the water alongside.
"Inspiration"
310 Yards • Par 4

seventeenth hole
On what may be the most visually striking hole on the course, the fairway of this par 4 is split by a meandering creek that fronts the left side of this large green before crossing between the landing area and the green on a diagonal path toward the right side of the hole. But almost as striking as the creek are the old mill "ruins" which guard the approach shot from the left side of the fairway.
"Old Mill"
429 Yards • Par 4

eighteenth hole
Played down the left side of the same two lakes that guard the left side of the par 5 ninth hole, the closing hole at Copper Mill is slightly longer than it's counterpart--but every bit as visually striking! Culminating at a green complex framed by waterfalls and a seemingly endless supply of sand, you'll be torn between loving to play the hole and hating to call an end to your day at Copper Mill. Of course, there's always that "emergency nine" you can get in before you go...
"Bittersweet"
546 Yards • Par 5
